I was lucky enough to get to spend a few extra days in Italy after our program had ended. A group of us decided seeing Rome and Florence were most important to us. So Saturday we got up bright and early checked out of Zumbini and boarded a train to Rome. We booked a place through Airbnb so we were renting someone's house for the weekend. I definetly underestanded how difficult it would be to make it to this house carrying all our luggage. But once we made it to the house everything was fine. Seeing the iconic tourist attractions of Rome it really hit me where I was. We visited Vatican City, the coliseum, and the Trevi fountain. I just wish we had more time in Rome to keep exploring, someday I know I will be back to see the Sistine chapel. Then was our next adventure to Florence. We had 1.5 days there and we were going to make them worth it. I knew Florence was known for their leather but I was not expecting what I saw which was leather everywhere. I went to sleep that night dreaming of leather. I did end up getting a jacket which I'm super excited about and by far my favorite clothing item I brought home from Italy. The highlight of the Florence trip for me was seeing Michelangelo's David.  The long line outside was worth it. Florence was the perfect ending to my 3.5 weeks in Italy. I arrived home Thursday and have been sleeping ever since.  I always knew I loved to travel but now I officially have the travel bug to keep exploring Europe.  Every dollar I earn after expenses will go into a piggy bank labeled travel for probably the next 60 years.
